One of the best beauty tips for the face which we can give you is not about what product you should buy or what you should do to keep your skin young and ageless. It is opening your eyes to what you’re currently doing that could ruin your skin for good.
Here are ten bad skin habits which you should put a stop to immediately.
- Too Long, Too Hot Showers.
While it’s invigorating to spend over 10 minutes under a hot shower; don’t. The heat strips off the protective epidermis making your skin dry, scaly and prone to breakouts.
- Waxing, Shaving Often
Well who wouldn’t want a smooth, hair-free complexion? However, you get raw and bumpy skin from waxing or shaving too often. Give your skin at least three weeks before you get rid of the unsightly hair and make sure to use good quality and hypo allergenic products and avoid harsh chemicals.
- Eating Less or Skipping Meals
Bad diets cause the skin to dry quicker, making it look older. Remember that you get important nutrients for the skin like Vitamins C, E and A from good food. So eat!
- Drinking Too Much
Alcohol, coffee, soda and other sugary beverages dehydrate your skin, making it look wrinkly and old. Stay away from these drinks if you want to maintain a blemish-free and young looking skin.
- And on that Note, Not Drinking Enough Water
Drinking enough water to maintain youth is not a myth. This clean, pure and inexpensive beverage really does wonders. Your doctor tells you to drink at least eight (8) glasses of water a day because it helps cleanse your whole body and get rid of toxins. This is also one of the best beauty tips for the face.
- Overlooking Exercise
Toxins and dead cells from your skin are expelled when you perspire. Obviously, you’ll sweat more when you exercise. This activity also gives your skin a healthy glow afterwards. So put on that sweats and good old sneakers and run the neighborhood or hit the gym.
This is one of the most hazardous habits one can take up – especially for your skin. If you don’t smoke, stay away from people who do because second-hand smoke is just as dangerous.
- Wearing Too Heavy Make-Up and Sleeping with Make-Up On
Make-up clogs your pores. Clogged pores with all chemicals from the make-up and the bacteria which accumulated there for the whole day are the causes of pimples. Removing your make-up and washing your face before you sleep is a great start to having good skin.
- Not Getting Enough Sleep
Eight hours of sleep at night refreshes and reenergizes the whole body. Say hello to clogged pores and dull skin if you only had five hours or less of sleep.
- Getting Too Stressed
Blemishes, dullness, frown lines and rashes on your skin can be attributed to stress. While we all get pressured and strained from everyday life; it would be nice to find something which can help you relax.
